Industries & Applications: Industrial Power Supply Systems

TRAMAG Transformers in use for sustainable Voltage Quality in Factory Power Grids

The construction of new, but also the modernization of existing industrial plants, often requires hundreds of millions of Euros in investments, currently for the new construction of high-tech factories for semiconductor production, among others. For economically profitable operation, production in these factories must run 24/7 without interruption. The first prerequisite for this is a sufficient and trouble-free supply of the required amount of energy with a simultaneously binding constant voltage quality.

An active filter system is often used at the interface between the mains voltage fed in from the public power supply grid and the mains voltage distributed to the company power supply grid in order to maintain the voltage quality permanently.

An integral part of this active filter system is a transformer specially engineered and designed by TRAMAG for voltage regulation, which supplies the company’s electrical network, and thus the connected drives of the installed machines and systems, with a “clean”, stable voltage with a narrow tolerance. This active-filter system with a TRAMAG regulating transformer is also required in the opposite direction, for feeding back surplus energy from the factory power grid into the public power grid.

TRAMAG: TRAMAG: We make it possible

The active filter system with our special TRAMAG regulating transformer prevents voltage dips and fluctuations, ensures constant voltage quality that conforms to standards, protects the drives and thus enables round-the-clock operation in factories with high-end technology worldwide.

For years, customers all over the world have relied on our TRAMAG solutions expertise in transformers, chokes and filters for the reliable supply of power to factory power grids with the highest voltage quality for the stable operation of the machines and production systems installed there.

Quality is when your QMB goes “High-Five-S” with you

We know where quality must ultimately be demonstrated and proven: In the product, in the customer’s application. But where does quality begin? On the one hand in technical development and on the other hand in the organization of workplaces in production. Employees who keep their workstations tidy maintain an overview, have access to the right tools at all times and can work on the product efficiently and with quality assurance.

Information visit to TRAMAG by the VDI District Association of Bavaria North-East

On the afternoon of St Nicholas’ Day, the TRAMAG plant in Fürth hosted an information event for members of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) from the Bavarian North-East District Association. Due to the regional proximity and also taking TRAMAG’s 100th anniversary as an occasion, we received a request from the Nuremberg VDI local group to visit our plant, which we were very happy to fulfil.

“Quality is when the Customer comes back and not the Product”

The most technically innovative or economically attractive product in an application is worth nothing if the quality is not right. Not only would the failure of the product itself have to be lamented, but possibly also further damage to the entire application.
