Air coils in test facilities and test systems
TRAMAG products explained
Air coils are inductive winding goods without an iron core. They are mainly installed in test equipment and systems and used there as a test load, for example to test switching elements with high short-circuit resistance requirements.
Since this type of choke lacks saturation properties, it has a particularly large linear inductance curve. The mechanically necessary coil voltages – required for a high current range – are produced exclusively by magnetically non-conductive connections.
Air core coils are characterised by their compact design and high mechanical stability, which are ensured above all by cooling channels between the layers and the round winding shape.
TRAMAG fulfils all the necessary quality characteristics to ensure perfect functioning of specially calibrated air coils in the test environment, thus enabling the highest precision in use and for the development of our customers’ products.
