The testing process made by TRAMAG

– What you can rely on

Insights into the transformer and choke production of a leading specialist

TRAMAG has stood for high-quality, reliable winding goods for almost 100 years. That is why all our products are subjected to 100% routine testing either in our German or in our Czech plant before they leave the factory. But also the upstream manufacturing process is subject to several defined quality checks at all stages of the value chain.

TRAMAG quality guidelines

The tests are generally based on our guiding standard, DIN EN61558 for transformers and chokes in the low-voltage range. This specifies exactly which type and routine tests are prescribed for the respective winding material.

Process of the inspection

In order to guarantee a flawless and continuous quality inspection for each product, our employees follow the specified process description.
There, all responsibilities, processes as well as the scope of testing are specified in detail. If necessary, additional special tests are included that have been agreed with the customer in advance.

Our products are 100% tested!

Final inspection at TRAMAG

Quality assurance of transformers and chokes.

There are specific test schedules for transformers and chokes, based on the standard and the quality guidelines.

Piece test sequence of transformers and chokes

  • Protective conductor test
  • High-voltage test with withstand AC voltage
  • Open circuit / transformation test (transformers)
  • Inductance test with LCR measuring bridge (chokes)
  • Resistance test (chokes)
  • Dimensional test
  • Visual inspection

Additional testing services at TRAMAG

Further, one-off test steps concern weight measurement, short-circuit measurement and, especially for chokes, inductance measurement with alternating current.

In connection with specially required type tests or special tests – mainly carried out with initial samples – the noise measurement and the heating test are to be mentioned as relevant above all.

Quality is when your QMB goes “High-Five-S” with you

We know where quality must ultimately be demonstrated and proven: In the product, in the customer’s application. But where does quality begin? On the one hand in technical development and on the other hand in the organization of workplaces in production. Employees who keep their workstations tidy maintain an overview, have access to the right tools at all times and can work on the product efficiently and with quality assurance.
