“Impressed by the Technology of customized Transformer Production”

Information visit to TRAMAG by the VDI District Association of Bavaria North-East

On the afternoon of St Nicholas’ Day, the TRAMAG plant in Fürth hosted an information event for members of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) from the Bavarian North-East District Association. Due to the regional proximity and also taking TRAMAG’s 100th anniversary as an occasion, we received a request from the Nuremberg VDI local group to visit our plant, which we were very happy to fulfil.

The VDI has been active since 1856 and is the largest network for engineers in Germany. One of the association’s aims is to inspire people for sustainable, forward-looking technology. On the occasion of this event, TRAMAG (itself a member company of ZVEI e.V.) had set itself the goal of inspiring the VDI visitors present with a tour of transformer production.

Along the value chain from coil winding, core production, assembly and wiring work, the impregnation process to final testing, the participants were informed in detail about the technically demanding production process. Our guests from the VDI were able to convince themselves in detail of the craftsmanship and precision, the understanding of quality and the adherence to the electrotechnical safety standards.

With the newly gained impressions and knowledge from the factory tour, this was followed by an exciting, technical and professional exchange in the VDI – TRAMAG technicians’ round table. TRAMAG was able to explain the importance of transformers, chokes and filters for voltage supply and power quality, even for the latest high-tech industrial applications. The positive feedback from our guests from the VDI at the end of the event certainly suggests that we were able to generate a lasting enthusiasm for transformer and choke production, which we hope will now spread quickly throughout Germany’s largest engineering network.

Quality is when your QMB goes “High-Five-S” with you

We know where quality must ultimately be demonstrated and proven: In the product, in the customer’s application. But where does quality begin? On the one hand in technical development and on the other hand in the organization of workplaces in production. Employees who keep their workstations tidy maintain an overview, have access to the right tools at all times and can work on the product efficiently and with quality assurance.
