Isolating transformers with protective separation

TRAMAG products explained

transform

Isolating transformers provide safety where reliable protective separation of circuits is necessary. They thus ensure the reliable and safe power supply of machines, systems and plants.

The TRAMAG isolating transformers translate alternating voltage and alternating current with at least one primary winding on the input side and one secondary winding on the output side by electromagnetic induction, at the corresponding reference frequency.

Due to their characteristic, they transform the mains input voltage one-to-one to the output winding, which ensures safe galvanic isolation from the supply network. Our isolating transformers achieve a voltage range of up to 1,000V and a power rating of 1MVA. They are also subject to a higher test voltage with correspondingly larger distances (creepage and clearance distances).

Our isolating transformers comply with the following standards:

  • DIN EN 61558-1
  • DIN EN 61558-2-4
  • UL/CSA

With TRAMAG isolating transformers, designs are possible both in IP00 and for higher degrees of protection. Customers all over the world have been relying on TRAMAG isolating transformers for years.

From the Fürth Solar Hill to the own Solar Roof

Eight years after saving the commissioning of the “Fürth Solarberg” with TRAMAG transformers, the Ammon family decided to install their own photovoltaic (PV) system on the roof of TRAMAG’s own company building. The 184kW peak output is sufficient to supply around 55 households with electricity, as reported in December 2011 by the Fürther Nachrichten on the occasion of the commissioning of the TRAMAG PV system, which was also attended by the Mayor of Fürth, who also climbed onto TRAMAG’s roof.
